Raymond and I worked together arranging his proposal in Plaza Sant Pere, in the heart of Barcelona. Sharing ideas and scooping out locations a month beforehand, we finally decided on 20 white balloons, two white cupcakes, and enlisted the help of the lovely Restaurant La Candela.
Unknown to Josanna, the day of the shoot Raymond and I were nervously whatsapping back and forth! Though I had all the arrangements set, you can’t help but feel the pressure. It’s an engagement!!! I had the lovely waitstaff of La Candela bring out the balloons and cupcakes, as I sat like a creepy stalker at a nearby table, ready to take photos for the moment Raymond proposed. After the emotional proposal, the three of us took the most wonderful stroll through Barcelona’s Ribera’s café lined streets. We rented bikes and inched them through the Gothic Quarter’s narrow alleyways. And at the end of the day, we set the balloons free in Barceloneta beach. I may or may not have cried a little from all the emotion!
It’s such a joy to be able to photograph wonderful couples’ genuine moments. I love being a Barcelona wedding photographer because I really feel involved in these moments, implicated in expressing a couple’s emotions and love. Thank you Ray & Jo! Come back to Barcelona!
